New role for Michael Downey

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Downey as the new Head of Risk Products & Strategic Marketing for TOWER Australia.

Michael will have responsibility for the development and marketing of Retail Risk, Group Risk, and Alliance Products. Most of you already know Michael who has been with TOWER in Australia for the past two years where he has been responsible for the development and relaunch of the retail and group risk products.

He has over 20 years experience in the Australian market.

Michael sees his key challenges being to continue the positioning of TOWER as the leading risk insurer in the Australian market, working closely with its current distribution partners while also exploring new distribution channels.

We, at TOWER are aggressively seeking to grow our market share and have been at the forefront of developing new products to meet a changing environment.

An example has been our early April launch of a revamped Retail Risk Product range aimed at our strong traditional market base.

Market research indicates that one of the fastest growing markets for insurance products is the 30 to 40 age bracket which consists of young families with children and mortgages. The new TOWER upgrade has introduced a range of new benefits and features, supported by reduced premium rates in the 30 to 40 age bracket and new underwriting initiatives to streamline the application process.
